Blessed Jesus, ever be
Head of Influence to me;
Let my mention of thy Name,
With my walk proclaim the same.

Leave, Ah! leave me not alone,
Not one moment, no, not one,
Lest I put to open shame
Once again the slaughtered Lamb

Head of Influence to me
Thou hast been, I plainly see.
Loose not then thy mighty hold,
Or this tale will soon be told:

"Woe is me, my peace is gone.
God, the Comforter, withdrawn.
How could he abide with me
Who is ever One with thee?"
